portraitAt Elizabeth Jameson Fine Art, we use a process called "solar etching", named such because we use the sun to etch my MRIs by means of a photosensitive emulsion on a metal plate. When the photosensitive plate is placed in the sun, the emulsion hardens where the sun hits and stays soft where its covered, by an MRI, for example. The still soft emulsion can then be brushed off, revealing a completed printing plate.

In addition to the printmaking part of our studio, we have recently developed a digital arts component to our work, which comes about through the true genius and hard work of Sasha Miyamoto. Sasha is a graduate of Mills College and is intrigued and delighted to continue her academic interest in neuroscience in the form of fine art. Her tremendous talent and dedication is critical to the success of the studio.
